When our pets are in need of medical care, they can't tell us what's wrong. Diagnostic procedures such as radiology and ultrasound provide visual pieces to the puzzle of your pet's health to help your veterinarian determine the cause of their illness or extent of their injury.
Radiology is a safe, non-invasive form of imaging that allows your veterinarian to visualize the internal organs or skeletal system. These pictures provide your veterinarian with information that cannot be seen on examination and can help diagnose issues such as fractures, masses, or gastrointestinal obstructions, to name just a few.
Ultrasound technology is also a safe, non-invasive procedure that uses sound waves to create an image. Whereas radiology provides a snapshot of an entire region such as the chest or abdomen, ultrasound allows your veterinarian to visualize and evaluate the structure of specific organs.
